Job Title:   Molding Supervisor 1st Shift (6:30am - 3:30pm Mon-Fri)   Department: Injection Molding   Reports to: Production Manager-Molding   Position Summary: The Molding Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of process technicians, assembly personnel, mold install technicians and press operators, providing guidance, training and support to ensure that operations run safely, smoothly and efficiently.   Accountability: The Molding Supervisor is accountable for executing the daily production plan, maintaining process control, ensuring equipment readiness and fostering teamwork within and between departments. This role requires proactive problem-solving, strong communication and consistent enforcement of policies, procedures and safety initiatives.   General Production Oversight: Monitor and coordinate daily production schedules to ensure jobs are completed on time and to specification. Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps, personnel and resource utilization. Identify and address process disruptions, malfunctions and bottlenecks. Directly supervise Assembly and Pressroom Team Leads. Execute production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, monitoring progress, resolving issues and reporting results. Enforce organizational and quality standards to maintain consistent quality and output. Communicate expectations clearly and monitor, evaluate and appraise employee performance. Coach, counsel and discipline employees in accordance with company policies. Initiate, coordinate and enforce assembly and molding procedures. Serve as a point of contact for manufacturing-related questions and requests. Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment by educating and directing personnel on proper equipment and resource usage.  Ensure compliance with all established policies, procedures and safety requirements. Investigate problems, identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions. Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Production Manager.   Machine and Equipment Oversight: Ensure injection molding machines, assembly equipment and auxiliary systems are properly maintained and operating efficiently. Assist with troubleshooting equipment and process issues to minimize downtime. Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities as needed. Create maintenance tickets and document downtime events when required.   Core Responsibilities: Ensure all manufacturing processes and procedures are followed consistently. Maintain department organization, cleanliness and 5S standards. Train, orient and develop employees to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. Provide input during mold reviews and process evaluations. Administer employee corrective actions and performance appraisals. Complete Layered Process Audits (LPAs) in the pressroom and assembly areas. Address MRRs and CAPAs promptly to ensure information is captured and corrective actions are effective. Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and material flow issues. Address factory scheduling challenges in coordination with planning and production teams. Support engineers with continuous improvement and process optimization efforts.   Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; technical or associate degree preferred. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in injection molding, assembly, or manufacturing operations. Prior supervisory or lead experience in a production environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process control and quality standards. Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions, drawings and specifications. Working knowledge of 5S, continuous improvement and layered process audits (LPAs). Experience addressing MRRs, CAPAs, inventory discrepancies and downtime reporting. Proficiency with production systems, scheduling tools and MS Office software. Strong communication skills with the ability to set expectations and provide feedback.
