Teachers Assistants will support goals set for children around school readiness which include social, emotional, educational, physical, and nutritional goals.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nAssist the Teacher in preparing, implementing, and evaluating daily classroom activities\nAssist the Teacher in ensuring that children are taught and supervised in a consistent manner\nAssist the Teacher in ensuring all children are within sight and sound at all times\nTake responsibility for the children when the Teacher is not present\nTake the primary lead for 5 children in the classroom\nAssist the Teacher and parents in providing for children’s daily needs and routines\nAssist the Teacher in ensuring all children are signed in and out by the parent daily utilizing the Attendance form and the Sign In and Out Forms\nAssist the Teacher and parents in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.\nShare the responsibility of maintaining orderliness and cleanliness in the classroom to include but not limited to janitorial duties as assigned by teacher such as sterilization of toys, sweeping and mopping of floors in bathroom and classrooms, cleaning and sterilizing of toilet and sinks\nAssist in planning and involving parents and children in the preparation of nutritious foods and cleanup at meal time\nAssist with daily personal hygiene of the children such as diapering, feeding, tooth brushing, toileting, hand-washing, and resting\nShare the responsibility of providing appropriate care for children with disabilities\nEncourage parents to attend monthly Family Nights\nWhen required attend Family Night activities, contributing relevant Education component information\nProvide input to teacher for Parent/Staff Conferences, Comprehensive Staffing and Monthly Individual Child Goal Tracking\nUtilize the teacher, other staff, and resource library for technical assistance\nMaintain positive communication with parents\nClassrooms with transportation:\nMonitor children and adults while being transported\nEnsure that all children restraints are properly installed and fastened on the the bus\nAssist with boarding and exiting the bus\nHelp with evacuations and assist in the event of an emergency\nDemonstrate positive guidance techniques with children\nEnsure the bus is attended at all times\nAssist with post trip inspection of bus to ensure all students have departed from the bus\nAssist with take home material\nEducation Requirements:\nHigh school education or equivalent\nRequired to obtain a step 6 in ORO within one year of hire date.\nRequired to enroll in a CDA program or comparable credential or a college degree program resulting in an Associate degree within two years of hire date.\nExperience and Skills Requirements:\nOne year experience in a preschool related program\nCurrent First Aid, CPR, and Food Handler’s card\nHead Start experience (preferred)\nCommunity service experience (preferred)\nMulti-cultural experience (preferred)\nGeneral Staff Responsibilities:\nParticipate in staff meetings, conferences, training sessions and workshops as assigned\nDemonstrate familiarity with employment policies, performance standards, work plan and objectives of Agency\nMaintain congenial and respectful relations with staff, children, families and community\nKeep current and accurate records and file reports on time\nMaintain confidentiality in regards to staff and family information\nMaintain objectives and professional standards\nImprove self-skills and education\nFulfill role as mandated reporter as stated in Child Abuse and Neglect Policy\nBe present at work in order to provide consistency of services\nBe a contributory team member in a positive/productive manner\nDemonstrate commitment to mission, values, and policies in the performance of daily duties\nAnd or any other duties deemed necessary by your supervisor\n*Salary is commensurate with education and experience.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
