You’ll develop modern, responsive, and secure websites while ensuring the technical foundation supports SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO). This role is ideal for a developer who thrives at the intersection of front-end craft, CMS development, and technical performance.\n\nResponsibilities\nFront-End Development\nBuild reusable UI components using React, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, and Storybook.\nCreate responsive, accessible, and semantic templates that align with brand and UX standards.\nImplement modern build tools and workflows (Webpack, Vite, etc.).\nWordPress Development\nDevelop and maintain custom themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks.\nWork with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), custom post types, and taxonomies.\nIntegrate with the WordPress REST API and/or GraphQL for dynamic and headless implementations.\nSecurity & Performance\nApply WordPress hardening and follow OWASP Top 10 best practices.\nPrevent vulnerabilities (XSS, CSRF, SQL injection) through secure coding practices.\nOptimize for Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) with caching, code splitting, and image/CDN optimization.\nAEO, SEO & Accessibility\nImplement clean HTML, heading hierarchy, and crawlable templates.\nEnsure proper use of meta tags, canonical tags, robots directives, and XML sitemaps.\nSupport structured data/schema validation (schema.org/JSON-LD) for rich snippets and answer engines.\nAlign technical implementation with accessibility, search, and AI discoverability goals.\nCollaboration & Workflow\nWork cross-functionally with designers, marketers, and other developers.\nUse Git-based workflows and contribute in agile/sprint cycles.\nDocument code, architectural decisions, and technical standards to ensure maintainability and scalability.\n\nRequirements\n5+ years of professional experience in front-end and WordPress development.\nStrong proficiency in:\no WordPress (themes, plugins, Gutenberg, ACF)\no React, JavaScript/ES6+, TypeScript (preferred)\no Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, Storybook\no PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3\nUnderstanding of:\no Technical SEO & AEO best practices (semantic HTML, structured data, Core Web Vitals)\no Web security standards (WordPress hardening, OWASP)\nComfortable with Git workflows and agile collaboration.\nPreferred\nExperience with WooCommerce or other ecommerce platforms.\nFamiliarity with Next.js, Gatsby, or other headless frameworks.\nCRM integration experience (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot, Salesforce).\nExperience with local WP environments (LocalWP, Lando, DevKinsta, Docker).\nRequired Education\nBachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Equivalent\n\nStatus\nFull-time\n\nLocation\nRemote\n\nThe expected base salary range for this position is $104,000-$114,000, however the offered salary may be higher or lower than the above range dependent on numerous factors including, but not limited to location, work experience, skills and internal equity considerations.
