Assistant Designer – Women's Apparel (Tops, Sweaters & Dresses) | Adobe Illustrator | Tech PacksDuration: 8 Week'sLocation: San Francisco, CaliforniaJob DescriptionWe are seeking a talented Assistant Designer – Women's Apparel to join our client's design team for an exciting opportunity supporting the development of seasonal women's collections. This role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented fashion designer with experience in apparel design, trend research, technical design documentation, and product development.The ideal candidate has a strong eye for fashion trends, excellent sketching and Adobe Illustrator skills, and a solid understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrics, and product development.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch global fashion trends, competitive brands, seasonal color palettes, silhouettes, fabrics, yarns, trims, and construction techniques.Assist in developing seasonal design concepts, sketches, and product assortments for women's apparel.Create, update, and maintain detailed Tech Packs and design documentation for product development.Produce CADs, flat sketches, and design revisions using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.Collaborate with Design, Merchandising, Product Development, Technical Design, Production, and Sourcing teams throughout the product lifecycle.Support multiple seasonal calendars simultaneously while meeting development milestones and deadlines.Ensure product designs align with brand aesthetic, customer needs, quality standards, and target margins.Apply knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrication, trims, and sewing techniques throughout the design process.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.1–4+ years of experience as an Assistant Designer, Associate Designer, or Apparel Designer.Experience designing women's apparel, including Tops, Sweaters, Dresses, Knitwear, or Wovens.Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.Experience creating Tech Packs, CADs, and technical design documentation.Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrics, trims, and sewing techniques.Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative product development environment.Preferred ExperienceExperience working with retail, fashion, or apparel brands.Knowledge of PLM/PDM systems.Experience supporting seasonal collection development from concept through production.Strong trend forecasting and market research skills.
