This role is designed for a student who wants to bridge the gap between theoretical classroom breakthroughs and robust, market-ready products.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities\n\nIn this role, you will support the design, implementation, and validation of advanced DSP algorithms and system-level control software. Your core focus may include:\n\nReal-Time System Support: Assist in the design and evolution of DSP modules for wireless communications, specifically targeting FPGAs for real-time signal processing.\n\nSystem Implementation: Help implement software control interfaces for DSP modules and FPGA components under the guidance of senior engineers.\n\nVerification & Testing: Contribute to the development of design verification test (DVT) plans. You will perform diagnostics and debugging to ensure reliability across the digital processing chain.\n\nTechnical Skills & Minimum Requirements\n\nTo be considered for this internship, you should be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an EE or CS program (Senior or Graduate level) and demonstrate at least 2 of the following criteria:\n\nCore SW Languages: Proficiency in MATLAB, C/C++, and Python.\n\nHardware Description: Basic experience or coursework in VHDL, Verilog, or HLS for FPGA applications.\n\nToolchain Familiarity: Exposure to Vivado, Vitis, or FreeRTOS.\n\nFoundational Knowledge: A strong academic background in at least two of the following:\n\nDigital Signal Processing (DSP) and filter design.\n\nControl Systems and Communication Theory.\n\nWireless Communication Systems (e.g., Modulation, OFDM).\n\nProfessional Capabilities\n\nAnalytical Rigor: Ability to break down complex problems and approach them systematically.\n\nGrowth Mindset: A strong desire to learn \"product hardening\"—moving code from a fragile lab demonstration to a robust, real-world application.\n\nCommunication: Ability to clearly present technical findings and progress to the design team.\n\nCollaboration: A team-player attitude with the energetic personality needed to tackle new ideas.\n\nWhat Success Looks Like in This Internship\n\nWe would love to hear from you if:\n\nYou enjoy the \"Lab to Life\" journey: You find it rewarding to see a mathematical model turned into a functioning hardware prototype.\n\nYou are a budding System Architect: You are fascinated by how FPGAs and processors work together in heterogeneous systems.\n\nYou thrive in a fast-paced environment: You want to work on projects with real-world urgency and high-performance requirements.\n\nGood Faith Pay Range: $20-30/hr\n\nCompliance Notices\n\nCalifornia Fair Chance Act: MaXentric Technologies will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in a manner consistent with the requirements of the California Fair Chance Act.
