Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep/ LIne Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly by preparing ingredients and assisting in meal preparation for our restaurant. Your attention to detail and commitment to food safety will contribute to the overall success of our dining experience.
Duties
Prepare and chop ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and herbs according to recipes and menu specifications.
Assist in the assembly of dishes and ensure presentation meets restaurant standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
Follow food safety guidelines and ensure all food handling practices are adhered to.
Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, slicers, and other food preparation tools.
Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Requirements
Proven experience in food preparation or a similar role within a restaurant or culinary environment is preferred.
Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation tasks.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when needed.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's schedule.
