This hands-on engineering role focuses on building scalable, high-performance, cloud-ready solutions that power identity, entitlement, and reference data services across multiple ITP products and the DTCC Portal.\r\nYou will help drive DTCC's cloud and application modernization strategy by transforming legacy architectures into Java-based microservices, improving scalability, resiliency, and operational efficiency. Working across the full software development lifecycle, you will champion engineering excellence, automation, and quality while partnering with architects, product owners, and technology leaders to deliver business-critical solutions.\r\nPrimary Responsibilities\r\nDesign, develop, and support scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures.\r\nLead modernization initiatives, including migration of business logic from database stored procedures to Java-based services.\r\nDevelop cloud-native applications leveraging AWS and OpenShift.\r\nDesign and implement event-driven solutions using Kafka and related messaging technologies.\r\nBuild and support REST and SOAP APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.\r\nDesign, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.\r\nChampion Test-Driven Development (TDD), automation-first engineering, and shift-left testing practices.\r\nIntegrate automated testing and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines.\r\nOptimize application performance and database interactions across Oracle, DB2, and PostgreSQL environments.\r\nParticipate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code reviews.\r\nTroubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.\r\nMentor engineers and promote engineering best practices, software quality, and technical excellence.\r\nQualifications\r\nBachelor's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience\r\n6-8 years of software engineering experience developing enterprise applications.\r\nTalent Needed for Success\r\nStrong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architectures.\r\nHands-on experience developing cloud-native applications using AWS.\r\nExperience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), containers, and cloud deployment architectures.\r\nStrong experience with Oracle, DB2, or PostgreSQL databases, including complex database-driven applications.\r\nExperience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka and event-driven architectures.\r\nStrong understanding of distributed systems, messaging patterns, and asynchronous processing.\r\nExperience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks.\r\nHands-on experience with testing tools such as JUnit, Mockito, REST Assured, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.\r\nExperience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.\r\nStrong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.\r\nExperience working in Agile delivery environments.\r\nExposure to Angular or React is a plus but not required.\r\nPreferred Skills\r\nExperience with CI/CD, DevOps, and build automation practices.\r\nFamiliarity with Jenkins, CloudBees, Git, SonarQube, Maven, and related tooling.\r\nExperience supporting large-scale enterprise systems and cloud modernization initiatives.\r\nExperience with performance, load, resiliency, and API testing.\r\nJava, AWS, or quality engineering certifications.\r\nFinancial services or other regulated industry experience.\r\nThe salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
