The first three months are fulltime in the office.\nOur Team\nThe Cloud Platform Engineer has technical competency across multiple domains with a strong background in Cloud, automation, and security operations. A domain could be a technology area (e.g., development, network, or middleware) or may encompass business functionality supported by technology.\nThe Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, and support of complex platforms related to Eversource’s Azure Cloud and DevOps presence, with a strong emphasis on security policies, compliance, and risk management.\nEssential Functions:\nResponsible for successfully applying technology in their domain to solve business problems in a supportable, cost-effective way, with a focus on security operations and risk management.\nUnderstands how the domain supports Eversource’s needs and assesses current capabilities and future needs to identify necessary changes to domain technologies or practices, especially in the areas of security and compliance.\nAssist with the development of reference architecture, focusing on the implementation and development of defined solutions, including security policies and incident response procedures.\nUnderstand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business needs, including those of IT.\nConsult on technology implementation and modification activities (e.g., projects), particularly for new or shared infrastructure solutions, with a focus on security and compliance.\n\nIncorporate domain standards, practices, guidance and roadmaps into the Eversource Architects and communicate them via architecture documents, meetings or other channels. Periodically review and maintain the accuracy of the information.\n\nProvides technology consulting to solution architects and others who are using or modifying multiple domain technologies within a solution, ensuring technology operates coherently to meet overall security and compliance needs.\n\nEffectively integrate knowledge from subject matter experts and peers from other technical areas\nTechnical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:\nExposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments\nDeep knowledge of one technical domain, or experience working with multiple technical domains. Demonstrate an understanding of how the domains relate and can be assembled into comprehensive solutions that meet business and IT needs\nStrong Proficiency in all the services offered by Microsoft Azure including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.\nHands on experience and knowledge with Microsoft Azure.\nStrong experience on JSON ARM templates, PowerShell or Python, and Desired State Configuration/Ansible/Chef.\nExperience on monitoring tools like OMS and AppInsights.\nExperience on Azure Security, High Availability, Scalability and performance management\nContinuous integration, Continuous delivery and deployment in TFS/VSTS includes Build and Release pipelines\nSound knowledge on Merging and Branching strategies.\nExperience working with Git version control\nDesign, co-ordinate and execute proof of concepts and deployment guidance.\nActive Engagement with other developers and teams and clarify questions related to DevOps, process and technology\nGood experience on DevOps including Infrastructure automation, build automation and deployment automation.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree required.
