At Xscape Photonics, we’re not just building photonics—we’re engineering the future with light.Position Overview The HR Generalist is responsible for owning and executing core human resources processes across the full employee lifecycle. This role supports onboarding, employee changes, compliance, documentation management, offboarding, employee relations, and recruiting coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, process-driven, and emotionally intelligent, with strong knowledge of California employment law and hands-on experience managing HR operations in a fast-paced environment. This role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to partner cross-functionally while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and compliance.Key Responsibilities HR Ownership & Execution Own the full employee lifecycle, including: End-to-end onboarding (equipment, systems access, documentation, orientation, first-week experience) Employee role changes and promotions Offboarding and terminations Maintain accurate and compliant employment documentation (offer letters, employment agreements, separation materials, etc.) Ensure HRIS is accurate, clean, and up-to-date Ensure employee records are properly maintained and compliant with applicable regulations Generate HR reports, analytics, and workforce data as neededEmployee Relations & Compliance Apply strong working knowledge of California employment law to guide HR decisions Manage employee transitions, including terminations and severance, with consistency, professionalism, and care Support benefits and leave administration in collaboration with external partners Handle sensitive or difficult employee situations with composure and good judgmentRecruiting & Talent Support Partner with Talent Acquisition to: Coordinate interview scheduling Support recruiting activities Support candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycleOffice & Culture Support Assist with coordinating company events, employee engagement initiatives, and office activities Support general office management as needed Contribute to a positive, high-performing workplace cultureQualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent experience) 1–3+ years of HR experience preferred Experience in a fast-paced, onsite startup environment preferred
