The operator is responsible for productivity, cutting quality, and minimizing knife waste.\n\nEducational requirements:\n\nHigh school diploma or GED\n\nSkills and experience:\n\nPrevious experience in carpet manufacturing preferred\n\nGood communication skills, written and verbal\n\nBasic math skills required\n\nSome leadership experience.\n\nEssential duties:\n\nOperate control panel for the knife\n\nKeep carpet lined up and running squarely into press.\n\nMaintain quality of cuts\n\nSend tiles to quality lab to ensure that tile sizes are within specifications\n\nCall out all color changes to alert inspectors and boxers that a new run is starting\n\nComplete production paperwork for the shift\n\nMust have detailed knowledge of all jobs on the cutting line.\n\nAssume leadership role during critical times or when Supervisor is away from the line\n\nWork with maintenance staff to change knife or resolve quality issues related to cutting line\n\nMaintain housekeeping\n\nComply with safety rules\n\nComply with environmental regulations\n\nBe aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)\n\nEnsure ISO procedures are followed.\n\nUnderstand and support Interface commitment to sustainability.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nPhysical demands:\n\nStanding thoughout 8-10 hour shift\n\nLifting 50-60 pounds\n\nCorrected 20/20 vision\n\nWork environment:\n\nNon-climate controlled manufacturing environment.\n\n#LI-AS1\n\n#LI-Onsite\n\nLearn more about Interface (NASDAQ: TILE) and our brands at interface.com and FLOR.com.
