Inflecting revenue, backed by top-tier investors and staffed by leading engineers, Build is becoming the bottleneck to solving physical labor.\n\nJob Summary\n\nWe’re hiring someone to make it incredibly easy to see the dataset, collection, quality, and evals. You will build the analysis and visualization layer — from capture through slices, examples, and live pipeline health — so people look at the data instead of dumping to a notebook. If someone has to wait on you for a plot, the product is not done.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesign and ship a visualization suite: data collection, processing, analysis, and UI (web and/or CLI) for the dataset and the data engine\n\nMake looking at examples, batches, coverage, quality, and failures fast enough that research and ops actually do it\n\nBuild views for collection health, taxonomy coverage, and eval results, wired to live pipelines rather than one-off dashboards\n\nWork with Head of Dataset & Quality, Evals Lead, research, and ops on what must be visible to make a decision\n\nTreat viz as a product: latency, defaults, shareability, and a bar for how we look at video and pose\n\nYou may be a good fit if you have (Must-have qualifications)\n\nStrong software engineer with a track record of data viz, internal tools, or product UI on heavy data\n\nYou care about making other people faster, not only about a pretty demo\n\nComfortable with large media — video, pose, or similar\n\nFine in a 0 1 environment where “everything” is still being defined\n\nStrong candidates may also have experience with (Nice-to-have qualifications)\n\nWebGL, custom renderers, or high-performance browser viz\n\nYou have shipped internal tools that other teams live in\n\nExperience building analysis UIs (timelines, slice explorers, statistical summaries)\n\nPython plus TypeScript/React\n\nBenefits\n\nMedical, dental, and vision packages with generous premium coverage\n\n$500 per month credit for waiving medical benefits\n\nHousing subsidy of $2k per month for those living within walking distance of the office\n\nRelocation support for those moving to San Francisco (Financial District) or Shenzhen (Nanshan)\n\nVarious wellness benefits covering fitness, mental health, and more\n\nDaily lunch and dinner in our office\n\nUnlimited compute budget subject to ROI justification\n\nTravel\n\nHow we're different\n\nBuild believes in the Bitter Lesson.
