Network Security Engineer

Job Title: Network Security EngineerLocation: Austin, TX (Remote)Duration: 4 Months+ (extension possible) Job Summary: Enhance threat detection, monitoring, and incident response capabilities for the Texas Education Agency. Expand and fine-tune telemetry to improve security insights. Integrate high-value log sources into existing security systems. Enhance and develop security dashboards for better visibility. Support the rollout and implementation of additional CrowdStrike services. Improve endpoint and overall security risk visibility. Optimize signal quality and event correlation for better threat detection. Provide security leadership with actionable insights into security operations and risk posture. Document processes, create reports, and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team. Engage stakeholders and communicate effectively with executives. Perform SIEM detection engineering and optimize security alerts. Normalize data and ensure seamless log source integration. Utilize hands-on experience with CrowdStrike and SIEM dashboard development. (Preferred) Leverage experience with broader SIEM and dashboard development tools.
