Electrical Controls Engineer","description":"Overview\nMy client is seeking a full time, direct hire engineer to support all departments in defining, developing, and sustaining product for the retail fueling industry.\n\nJob Responsibilities\n\nCollaborative effort with other engineering entities to design, build, and validate new production support equipment.\n\nTroubleshoot production equipment as required to identify problems and implement corrective measures.\n\nContinually evaluate production equipment and processes to identify areas of improvement.\n\nIdentify and maintain a critical component inventory to ensure quick repairs of production equipment.\n\nProven ability in programming PLC, HMI, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and other types of electronic devices.\n\nProduct Development: Take lead role electrical component identification, circuit design, CAD documentation, and programming requirements of machine controls for company proprietary equipment.\n\nClear and concise communication with company management on responsibility developments.\n\nWrite functional design requirement specifications, including safety standards, which can include hazardous location requirements based on expected functionality.\n\nInvolvement in defining software testing requirements and procedures.\n\nSupport customer startups as necessary.\n\nWriting and processing of Engineering Changes.\n\nBill of Material and part number creation/management as required.\n\nCost/Time Estimation of projects.\n\nLimited travel as required.\n\nQualifications\n\nRequired Education, Skill, and Experience: Thorough understanding of electrical circuit design including single and three phase applications, VFD’s, mitigating EMF influences, and implementation of robust industrial electrical components.\n\nUnderstanding intrinsically safe requirements and electrical standards such as: UL, ATEX, IECEx, etc.\n\nDesign for cost effectiveness and manufacturability with an ability to design and draft electrical schematics in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.\n\nA minimum of eight years’ experience designing automated equipment / machinery.\n\nExperience successfully managing electrical/controls projects through the project Tollgate process.\n\nHMI + PLC programming experience such as: Unitronics / Rockwell / ABB / Siemens.\n\nC/C++ and Python programming experience is very desirable.\n\nAbility to work independently with a strong drive to meet all project requirements and timelines.\n\nProficient working on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.\n\nSolid computer skills with a variety of software tools including Microsoft Office products.\n\nGood verbal/written/technical communication.\n\nTeam player, able to take direction, and be self-directed.\n\nEducation and Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.\n\nMinimum of 8 years of product development
