This position is responsible for safely and efficiently unloading/loading trucks; performing final quality checks on finished products and loading on trailer per customer requirements.\nCarpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate with management, excel in customer service skills, and work well independently.\nThis position will ensure the proper loading of material on trucks to maximize usage of space; thus, requiring the safe operation of a forklift.\nMust be able to read and completely understand the labeling process and read and write English.\nRecharge forklift batteries or propane tanks as instructed.\nUnderstand the Carpenter Company Safe Stacking Policy and the recognition of prohibited and restricted area requirements.\nMust check and load trailers per customer requirements.\nUnderstands and follows safety procedures involving the loading of trailers.\nMust use a manifest to load trailers properly.\nMust report and recognize trailers that are in disrepair and could harm the product being shipped.\nMust have the ability to operate a forklift in confined spaces where other forklifts are working and other employees are working and walking.\nMust obtain a Carpenter Company Forklift Certification.\nMust have the ability to drive a forklift in reverse hauling product to a final location in a safe and efficient manner.\nMaintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment.\nMust be able to input data into the computer system.\nOther duties as assigned by management.\nAdditional responsibilities of the Check/Loader Operator:\nLoad trucks in proper sequence\nCheck loading tickets\nUse forklift to load trailers as needed\nRecord and track information in inventory control system\nVerify trucks have been loaded properly\nMove stock in loading are as necessary\nInspect trailers for damage\nForklift certified - will be certified by Carpenter Co.\nStarting pay rate: $21.71/hour\nSkills/ Requirements\nA high school diploma or GED\nPrior experience in shipping and/or receiving\nPrior experience in a production or manufacturing environment\nPrior forklift experience, preferred\nMust be detail-oriented\nMust take initiative and be a self-starter\nRead and interpret a tape measure.\nMust obtain a Carpenter Company Forklift Certification prior to operating a forklift.
