The Mechanical Engineer will be working as an integral part of the team that is expected to provide the following responsibilities:\n\nResponsibilities\n\nPerform mechanical engineering design and analysis for mining and industrial projects, including pumps, tanks, piping systems, and related equipment.\n\nDevelop engineering calculations and technical reports to support design decisions and clearly communicate results.\n\nSupport early‑stage design activities, including trade‑off studies, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, and facility layouts.\n\nPrepare and contribute to detailed design deliverables, including equipment and piping layouts, specifications, and construction documents.\n\nConduct technical evaluations, including bid analyses, vendor submittal reviews, and shop drawing reviews in accordance with applicable codes and standards.\n\nPerform pipe stress analysis and ensure designs meet project, regulatory, and industry requirements.\n\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver work on schedule and within budget, while providing guidance to junior engineers as needed.\n\nQualifications\n\nBA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\n\nEIT certification.\n\nValid U.S. Driver’s License.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nPassing score on the NCEES Professional Engineer (PE) exam.\n\nPE in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, or ability to acquire a PE in any of these States within 6 months of obtaining PE.\n\nOn‑site field experience in facility walk‑downs, commissioning or start‑ups for heavy industrial facilities.\n\nPerformed mechanical pipe stress modeling using industry standard software programs in conformance with codes and standards as well as project requirements.\n\nPerformed hydraulic and pumping computations and computer modeling and analysis of water distribution systems using industry standard software programs.\n\nExperience in piping design collaborating with technical staff that uses 3D modeling software to produce construction‑level drawings.\n\nAdditional Information\n\nNo sponsorship will be offered for this role now or in the future.\n\nNo relocation will be offered for this role.\n\nBenefits\nDepending on your employment status, AECOM benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability benefits, paid time off, leaves of absences, voluntary benefits, perks, flexible work options, well‑being resources, employee assistance program, business travel insurance, service recognition awards, retirement savings plan, and employee stock purchase plan.\n\nEEO Statement\nAs an Equal Opportunity Employer, we believe in your potential and are here to help you achieve it.
