{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"ac57a043750b53f8d99ab8ae","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ac57a043750b53f8d99ab8ae","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ac57a043750b53f8d99ab8ae","title":"Machine Operator","description":"Job Title: Machine Operator (Tinting)\nLocation: Durham, NC\nReports to: Production Manager\n6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday with occasional overtime hours required on Saturdays.\nSUMMARY: Tends mixing machines and related piping systems, loads, and moves dry materials, tints, fillers, etc. manually into hoppers/batch tanks, loads, unloads and moves liquid solvents using calibrated flow regulators, hoses or other transfer mechanisms.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDetects and reports unsafe conditions, equipment, or situations\nReports all unusual occurrences and incidents to Supervisor\nMust be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (half or full-face respirator).\nObtains, reads and follows in batch package.\nMakes adjustments to batches per written instructions from QC.\nFollows oral instructions from Group Leader or Production Manager\nMoves pallets, and tanks with forklift.\nDumps drums with drum grabber.\nTransfers MMA and Benzoflex 2088 using pumping systems.\nOperates Mixers per parameters on Operating Instructions in Batch Packages.\nWeighs materials and adds them to batches per batch package.\nProperly bonds and grounds all material transfers.\nFills out process instruction sheet documenting: lot numbers, quantities, times and temperatures as required by process instructions.\nCleans batch tanks, mixing blades, equipment and secondary containment vessels or sumps as required wearing PPE until atmosphere/breathing zone is free of dusts, vapors, mists gases or other contaminants.\nOperates hydraulic presses to fill batches.\nAny other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management\nGENERAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:\nObserve all company work rules, policies and procedures to ensure optimum safety and successful attainment of task objectives.\nMaintain work areas, walking areas, tank storage area(s) clean and free of trash, waste paper, dust and debris.\nComplete all assignments with accuracy, neatness and thoroughness.\nMaintain harmonious working relationships with team members, co-workers and other departments.\nBe flexible to changes in assignment and workload and contribute to the growth of the organization.\nActively strive to enhance knowledge, skills and abilities related to present position or assignment.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\nHigh School or trade school graduate or apprenticeship experience required.\nPrior assembly, manufacturing or chemical industry background desirable.\nBasic computational and volumetric skills necessary.\nMust be able to calculate/estimate weight or volume of mixture.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described here and in the amplified job description for this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
