The primary role of the PLC Specialist is to provide technical support to ensure that the production lines and plant equipment are operational, and provide the technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair and maintain process PLC’s, control systems and computers.\n\nEssential Functions:\nAdheres to the HTGP policies and procedures\nLearns, demonstrates and upholds HTGP Core Values\nTreat all HTGP team members with respect and professional courtesy\nComplies with all HTGP Certification Standards; Management System (IATF16949), ISO 45001 policies and procedures\nAlways strives to maintain a positive work environment\n\nEHS:\nAdheres to all safety policies and procedures\nComplies with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment\nConsistently meets company safety goals\n\nTechnical:\nTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant control systems, PLC’s, motion controllers, HMI’s and electrical systems.\nSolid foundation of Siemens Step 7systems and Siemens TIA Portal software platforms (for Programmable Logic Controllers & Human Machine Interface devices) and programming motor controls\nRead and interpret drawings, diagrams, manuals, schematics, and blueprints to maintain and improve equipment uptime.\nSet-up, configure, program, modify, and improve PLC programs.\nMaintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and participating in daily pass down discussions\nCreate and implement countermeasures for equipment based on downtime data\nProvide 2nd level technical support to plant electricians and technicians\nWork with equipment suppliers & contractors to improve equipment or processes\nSupport and Implement capital projects as per yearly schedule\nContributes to team efforts by accomplishing KPI department goals\nMust be hands on when problem solving and supporting equipment issues\nPrepares reports and presentations as required, improvements, corrective actions and quality issues etc.\nUnderstand and applies correct LOTO procedures and leads others in same\nSupport weekend / shutdown PM schedules for all HTGP equipment as required\nEnsures PM Work Orders are completed on time\nDocuments, evaluates and improves maintenance objectives\n\nLeadership:\nDocuments all activities in a timely manner\nBuilds and maintains good working relationships with Team Members and Management\nMeasures team efficiency (downtime rate, MTBF, MTTR, etc…) and assure that key performance metrics are met or exceeded\nHelps all direct reports with motivating, mentoring, personal and professional growth and goal setting\nMaintains flow of operations by directing the work of employees, and communicating production status, requirements, and problems to related departments\nDirects and oversees outside contractors performing maintenance, installation, or equipment modifications\n\nEducation\nHigh School/GED\n4 Year Degree or comparable background of work related experience related discipline preferred\nReporting:\nReports to: Maintenance Assistant Manager or designee\nDirect reports: None\nCompetency Requirements\nCommunicates critical issues (what, who, when, where) to Team Leader, Group Leader, Asst.
