Lead Technician (100% travel)

Lead Structured Cabling Technician Rightech is working with a global integrator who is looking to add four lead structured cabling technicians to their travel team. These roles are 100% travel with three weeks on the road and a weekend return prior to redeploying Sunday. Candidates will be traveling to sites nationwide to build out contactless retail locations. Locations include stadiums, hospitals, universities and airports. The first two weeks will be cabling installation with the third week will be the deployment and testing of cameras, wireless access points and another devices. You will work in teams of two during the first two weeks and will be responsible for device set up. Candidates must have a strong networking background and be comfortable using a laptop or tablet.Key Responsibilities:Structured CableRun, terminate, and test CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables according to industry standards.Dress and route cable into device locations.Cable pathway installation (J-hooks, uni-strut, ladder rack).Cable management (dressing, labeling).Cable Termination RJ-45/Modular Plug).Patching work in preconfigured MDF cabinets.Drilling and MountingDrill and securely camera, Wap's and other equipment as required.Ladder WorkSafely work on ladders to install and maintain equipment at heights.DocumentationMaintain accurate records of work performed, including cable runs, installations, and troubleshooting steps.Read and follow blueprints set for installation.Networking:Basic Networking experience to get devices online in a wireless network environmentStrong PC skillsTroubleshooting experienceSafety Compliance:Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.Qualifications:Strong knowledge of low voltage copper cablingAbility to work on ladders and overheadBasic understanding of cabling infrastructure.Strong customer service experienceYou work directly with the end usersStrong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and efficiently.Good communication skills to interact with team members and clients.Knowledge of setting up network devices including cameras and access pointsKnowledge of safety practices related to working with electrical equipment, ladders, and power tools.Required Tools:Basic hand toolsScrewdriver (multi-Bit)Torpedo levelTape measureSnipsPliers (needle nose and channel locks)Cable stripperPunch down toolModular plug crimperFlashlight – not the one on the phoneFish tapeElectrical tapeCordless drillImpact driverVarious sizes of wood, metal and masonry drill bitsVarious sizes and types of driver bitsPPE: Safety Vest, Safety Glasses, Work Gloves, Hard Hat, Work Boots (Steel toe or composite) Certifications Highly Desired: OSHA 10
