As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll architect and deliver high-impact solutions using modern tools and technologies, work closely with data architects and stakeholders, and help transform MAPFRE USA into a truly data-driven organization.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nArchitect and implement scalable, secure data solutions using cloud and big data technologies.\nLead the design and development of advanced ETL processes and data models.\nIntegrate systems and technologies across cloud and on-premise platforms.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex data pipeline issues, ensuring data quality and integrity.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.\nMentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment.\nContinuously monitor system performance and implement improvements.\nIdentify opportunities for automation and optimization within data pipelines.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation and code standards.\nLead delivery of data solutions following SRE and TDD practices.\nExperience and Qualifications:\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, with 6+ years of experience in data engineering.\nAdvanced knowledge and hands-on experience with:\nProgramming: Python, PySpark, Spark\nWorkflow & Orchestration: Airflow, Jenkins, Terraform, Jira, Bitbucket\nCloud Platforms: AWS (Athena, EMR Studio), Snowflake\nDatabase Architectures: SQL, NoSQL, graph databases\nData Modeling & ETL Tools: Informatica Power Center, multidimensional modeling\nData Query & Transformation: Jupyter notebooks, AWS Athena\nOperating Systems: Linux, MS Windows\nCode IDEs: Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Jupyter notebooks\nExperience with algorithm analysis and collaborating with Data Scientists.\nStrong understanding of quantitative and fact-based data storage.\nExposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning is a plus.\nPay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
