This initiative brings together state leadership, healthcare providers, and community organizations to design and implement solutions that reflect local needs while advancing a shared, statewide vision for better health outcomes.**This role ensures the effective administration and oversight of grants that expand clinical training and workforce readiness across rural Indiana.**About the RoleThe Clinical Training & Readiness Grant Program Administrator supports the implementation of a key workforce initiative within the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). This role focuses on expanding access to clinical training, preceptorship opportunities, and workforce readiness programs that strengthen healthcare delivery in rural communities.Working within a complex statewide governance structure, this position collaborates with IDOH leadership, workforce initiative teams, healthcare providers, training partners, and community organizations. The role ensures that grant-funded programs are compliant, well-coordinated, and aligned with both state and federal expectations.This is a part-time , highly collaborative role that combines grant administration, stakeholder coordination, and performance tracking. You will serve as a critical operational link across partners, helping ensure that workforce investments translate into meaningful, sustainable impact.What You'll DoGrant Administration & OversightManage the full lifecycle of workforce-related grants with accuracy and accountability.Coordinate grants from application through closeoutEnsure compliance with federal, state, and contractual requirementsMonitor grant performance, deliverables, and timelinesMaintain accurate documentation, including contracts and amendmentsApplication & Proposal CoordinationEnsure a smooth, compliant, and well-organized application process.Review grant proposals for alignment with funding requirementsTrack applications and maintain submission schedulesCoordinate approvals and required supporting documentationFinancial Management & ComplianceSupport responsible stewardship of grant funding.Monitor expenditures to ensure appropriate use of fundsPrepare financial reports in accordance with government standardsAssist with audits and respond to findings as neededReporting & Performance TrackingTranslate grant activity into clear, measurable outcomes.Prepare and submit required programmatic and financial reportsTrack performance indicators and outcome measuresEnsure timely submission of quarterly, annual, and final reportsStakeholder Communication & SupportServe as a trusted resource for partners across the state.Act as a primary point of contact between IDOH and funded organizationsCommunicate grant requirements and expectations clearlyProvide guidance and technical assistance to partnersRisk Management & ComplianceProtect program integrity through proactive oversight.Conduct internal compliance reviewsIdentify and address potential risksEnsure adherence to procurement and contracting policiesWhat You BringSkill | Required / Desired | Years of Experience---|---|---Bachelor's degree in public health, health administration, public policy, workforce development, education, business administration, or related field | Required |Experience in workforce development, grant management, project management, program administration, or related work | Required | 3 yearsExperience working with healthcare organizations, rural communities, training providers, or public health systems | Required |Knowledge of compliance, budgeting, and reporting requirements for state or federal grants | Required |Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail | Required |Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills | Required |Knowledge of rural health delivery, care coordination, or health system transformation | Required |Experience with CMS-funded programs, federal grants administration, or large-scale workforce initiatives | Highly Desired |Familiarity with Indiana's rural health landscape, including hospitals, FQHCs, EMS, behavioral health providers, and community organizations | Highly Desired |Experience collaborating with statewide associations, training institutions, or multi-stakeholder coalitions | Highly Desired |Work Environment & TravelPart-time role working approximately 20 hours per weekFlexible daily schedule with availability required during core business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)Participation in regular statewide meetings, check-ins, and trainingsTravel may be required, including in varied weather conditionsAbility to lift up to 40 lbs may be requiredTravel reimbursement provided in accordance with Indiana State Travel policyWhy This Role MattersThis role supports the systems that prepare and strengthen the healthcare workforce serving rural communities.
