This position is expected to be 100% onsite.\n\nThis requisition is seeking accomplished, self‑motivated mid‑career engineers to design, analyze, test, and certify flight control systems and components for large commercial aircraft as well as to support the production and fleet operations of this equipment. This requisition is for multiple positions in multiple flight control disciplines performing many of the tasks listed below.\n\nDecomposes airplane level requirements into system level requirements and further decomposes system level requirements into component requirements\n\nParticipates in and/or leads system, component and detail certification efforts, including: creation of required certification artifacts such as system safety analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, and fault tree analysis; confirming and demonstrating traceability to regulatory requirements; and resolution of regulation conflicts.\n\nGathers, defines and documents system level requirements to support flight control and mission or trajectory requirements definition.\n\nResolves requirement conflicts, performs and documents analysis and design of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems to validate or assess the system design or models.\n\nParticipates in and/or leads system level and component level validation analysis and testing, including: test monitoring; analysis and test report authoring; supplier test report review and approval; test failure analysis; and test failure mitigation.\n\nGenerally, these activities require successful cross‑functional coordination within and outside of the company including avionics, pilot/crew operations, airplane safety, aerodynamics, BCA systems software, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies.\n\nDevelops solutions and disposition of issues to assure customer satisfaction.\n\nWorks under general direction.\n\nRequirements\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):\n\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering\n\n5-7 years of technical experience working with Flight Controls\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):\n\n5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience\n\nExperience with System Safety Analysis including failure modes and effects analysis, fault tree analysis, common cause analysis, and single & multiple failure analysis\n\nKnowledge/Experience with ARP 4754 and ARP 4761\n\nExperience with flight controls system and component architecture\n\nExperience in requirements development, design, analysis, and verification & validation of flight control systems\n\nExperience using requirement management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS\n\nExperience with manufacturing regulated and certified, safety critical components and software.\n\nREQUIRED EDUCATION:\nMinimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
