Project ManagerThe Project Manager leads, motivates and develops objectives for new tooling and automation projects through qualification for customer project functions. This role ensures production objectives are met in the areas of quality, scheduling, budget and customer satisfaction. Primary point of contact for assigned projects. Provides daily information to customers and sales staff on the status of assigned projects. Prepare reports for management showing progress and performance of projects.The Project Manager reports to the Engineering Manager. This role collaborates with the customer, internal sales team, project engineering team, quality engineering team and all other support areas to ensure accomplishment of new tooling and automation project through qualification.Specific responsibilities include:Coordinating progress and planning with Engineering, Sales, Production and Quality Departments to achieve on time tooling, unqualified part orders and qualifications to customers.Preparing and delivering comprehensive and understandable project status reports to management and leadership.Proactively identifying project risks and implementing contingency plans when issues arise.Ensuring problems or obstacles are resolved quickly to minimize impacts to timeline.Coordinating with specific areas of production, ensuring objectives for quality, scheduling, budget and customer satisfaction are achieved.Developing partner relationships with customers.Responsible for the creation of project proposals that establish technical requirements.Leading Accumold's development of new technical advances working with customers and the Accumold team.Responsible for establishing and maintaining team standards, practices and procedures in accordance with company policy.Performs duties in accordance with Accumold's Core Values, Policies, and Objectives. This includes the Quality Policy and Environmental Policy. Other duties as required.Required knowledge, skills and abilities include:Bachelor's degree in engineering or business preferred or suitable combination of education and experience of its equal. Experience working within the plastics molding industry preferred with a strong background in any or all of the following: plastic injection molding, mold building or mold design.Ability to operate personal computer. Knowledge of Windows based programs such as Outlook, Excel, Access, MS Project, Word, AutoCAD and Solid Works.Read, comprehend, and utilize instructions and correspondence with professionals. Effectively present directions and information in one-on-one and small group situation to other employees.Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Knowledge of rate, ratios, percent and use trigonometry. Ability to read and understand complicated designs and drawings.Knowledge to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Use experience to understand cause and effect as it relates to mold making to trouble shoot and problem solve.Ability to work with various personnel in departments to reach consensus on work related issues. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and a professional relationship with fellow workers and the general public. Willingness to attend conferences, classes or training to enhance and update knowledge and skills. Occasional travel may be requested for company business.Direct work task to others to complete project.While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is required to stand and use hand to manipulate very small parts or tweezers. Sense of touch may be used to detect texture, burs and edges. Frequent movement throughout the facility is required. Normal or corrected to normal vision is required with good color vision, close vision, and ability to use microscope and adjust focus. May be required to occasionally move or transport up to 55 lbs.The duties of this job are executed in a climate-controlled environment with few temperature or humidity extremes. Noise levels will vary from very low in the office area to moderate within the manufacturing facility. Employee may have contact with machining residues such as steel chips, grinding dust, EDM smoke, cutting oils and coolants. Safety glasses are required in manufacturing areas.
