About the Opportunity:The Payroll Assistant Manager plays a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the Corporate Payroll department. This position ensures accurate payroll processing, compliance with regulations, and effective team management. The role contributes by maintaining smooth payroll functions, supporting staff development, and collaborating with HR to manage benefits and audits. It is essential for sustaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance within the payroll function.3. Responsibilities:Supervise staff and manage daily payroll department operationsDevelop and monitor operational goals and performance metricsAssist with scheduling to control labor costs and meet staffing objectivesApprove escalated wage, overtime, and payroll deduction issuesSupport Kronos system maintenance and Shared Services HR and Payroll Help Desk ticketsEnsure timely and accurate payroll data entryAddress payroll issues and recommend process improvementsEnsure compliance with federal and state payroll regulationsInvestigate FTO/PTO variances and coordinate with HRCancel and approve reissued checks and manual payments outside pay cyclesOversee holiday time processing and eligibility approvalsApprove bi-weekly payroll after reconciliationInvestigate and resolve payroll variancesGenerate ad hoc payroll reports as neededCollaborate with HR and Payroll Manager on 401(k) processingAssist with audits and maintain regulatory compliancePromote and uphold customer service standards within the departmentMaintain confidentiality of payroll and company information4. Requirements:Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field, or two or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrevious supervisory experience requiredExperience in a multi-unit company preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to perform subordinate team member duties during emergenciesProficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, and WordKnowledge of UltiPro and ADP systems preferred but not requiredBasic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and ability to interpret graphsStrong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyMust be able to read, interpret, and communicate in EnglishAbility to carry out instructions and solve problems in standardized situationsMust be at least 18 years old and able to obtain and maintain gaming license if required by jurisdiction5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:Initial placement within the salary range is based on relevant knowledge, skills, and experienceBase salary is part of a Total Rewards package including wellness programs, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and performance bonuses6.
