Participates in the conceptual development of a construction projects and oversee its organization, scheduling, inventory and materials, and implementation. This position formulates company policies and ensures adherence.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nWork with Management and Subcontractors to plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with utility construction projects.\nOversees project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Confer with Management and Subcontractors to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.\nInitiate and maintain connections with owners and other contacts, such as engineers, municipalities, vendors, and internal team members to facilitate project activities.\nMonitor and control project through administrative direction to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.\nInvestigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.\nRepresent company in project meetings, safety meetings, and attend strategy meetings. May request supplies and materials to complete project.\nFormulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, budgets, financial estimates, and scheduling and report to upper management.\nWhite line all jobs before calling in locates.\nKeeping record of weather days, lost days due to locates.\nRecording when we receive permits and materials.\nManage the project under same expectations whether using internal crews (self-performing) or using subcontractors.\nHandle customer and/or property owner complaints in a timely manner\nEnsuring all proper signage and cones are placed properly and taken down when needed.\nEnsure compliance with building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations.\nSuccess Factors/job competencies:\nProject management skills: ability to create and update construction schedules.\nInitiative (Self-Starter) with seeking efficiencies of processes.\nAbility to work independently and self-directed.\nAbility to give direction, adapt to change, and establish relationships.\nStrong time-management skills, accountability, and prioritization skills.\nStrong team player and positive attitude.\nAbility to manage through conflict, complexity, and problem solve.\nAbility to review and understand construction drawings and specifications.\nKnowledge of public safety and security issues and regulations.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nDetail Oriented – a high level of attention to detail is required.\nQualifications required:\nHigh School Diploma and/or equivalent.\n2-3+ years’ experience in underground utility construction.\n1-2+ years’ supervising experience.\nProficient knowledge with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point), with aptitude to learn new software and systems.\nValid Driver License required – Class A CDL Preferred\nBackground investigation and Pre-Employment Drug Screen required.\nWorking Conditions/Environment:\nThis position operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires the ability to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting, twisting, pushing, pulling, and kneeling.\nThe physical demands described in this job description represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is labor intensive, with lifting required. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy spring, summer, and fall weather.\nAssume responsibility for work outcomes and results of other workers. May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or\ncoordinated.
