Our Designer is an architectural design professional, who is accountable for producing accurate design and construction documents for our multi-site, commercial clients and supporting other team members in achieving team goals. This is a hybrid position based in our Downers Grove, IL office.\r\nJob Responsibilities\r\nPrepares complete, accurate and code compliant construction documents.\r\nProvides technical and creative design solutions that align with program intent.\r\nResponsible for determining the appropriate building components and their design application.\r\nResponsible for maintaining project schedules, deadlines and commitments for all projects.\r\nCoordinates work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.\r\nNotifies supervisor of changes in project scope and advises if a change order proposal is needed.\r\nPossesses a working knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements.\r\nConducts project due diligence with municipalities to determine local zoning and building code requirements.\r\nAccountable for resolving plan review comments from code officials.\r\nProject liaison to code officials, outside consultants, suppliers, and contractors regarding questions to the construction documents.\r\nOversees staff architects, designers and technicians.\r\nReview / evaluate others work and provide productive feedback and technical direction.\r\nEligible for Designer of Record signing and sealing responsibilities, based on business need.\r\nWorks with supervisor and peers to pursue professional development.\r\nParticipates in the development of more junior members of the team.\r\nParticipates in NCARB's Architectural Experience Program (AXP) Program.\r\nAccountable for timely completion of assigned projects.\r\nSelf-starter with the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision on large-scope projects with many complexities.\r\nMay represent the company at client project meeting and visit project sites to verify scope, exiting conditions and other related activities.\r\nOther duties as assigned.\r\nQualifications\r\n4-year degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent; master's degree preferred.\r\n7 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\r\nProficiency in Revit (required), Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet. 3ds Max is a plus.\r\nComprehensive knowledge of architectural building design, infrastructure, principles, and advanced techniques.\r\nFamiliar with MEP systems and structural systems.\r\nExpertise in drawings, specifications, and building materials.\r\nCapable of completing complicated and difficult architectural assignments and large, complex projects with minimal supervision.\r\nAbility to execute and coordinate multiple projects at a time.\r\nExperience of multi-site commercial projects in the retail and restaurant industries, preferred.\r\nWhy Join Sevan?\r\nAt Sevan, We Believe In Creating a Supportive And Dynamic Environment Where Your Contributions Truly Matter.
