Information Technology Security Manager

The Security Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s information and physical security programs. This role involves conducting risk assessments, performing audits, and developing security strategies. Additionally, the Security Manager leads business continuity and disaster recovery efforts to ensure the organization can maintain operations during unexpected events. This individual provides technical leadership and collaborates across departments to enforce security policies that protect company assets and align with business goals.Core ResponsibilitiesProgram Oversight: Direct and manage the comprehensive security program for the organization.Policy Development: Establish and supervise security measures across all departments, including IT, HR, and Operations.Risk Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits to identify and mitigate risks.Emergency Planning: Develop, maintain, and test Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.Advisory & Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert on security for senior management and lead internal security task forces.Training & Awareness: Facilitate security awareness training for employees and external partners.Incident Response: Manage the investigation and resolution of security incidents or breaches.Compliance & Auditing: Ensure the organization meets all regulatory and client-based security requirements; manage the response to external audits.Continuous Improvement: Research and recommend new security technologies and stay current on industry trends and threats.Monitoring: Oversee the monitoring of networks and systems for suspicious activity or policy violations.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business) or equivalent professional experience.Experience: 5+ years of experience in security operations, IT management, or risk compliance.Certifications: Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or similar) are preferred.Technical Knowledge: Broad understanding of cloud environments, IT infrastructure, and data protection principles.Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead projects and influence cross-functional teams in high-pressure situations.Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Equal Opportunity Employer.
