This role includes prescription verification, drug utilization review (DUR), patient counseling, regulatory compliance, and the final verification and release of compounded prescriptions.\nThis position requires strong professional judgment, strict adherence to SOPs and regulatory standards, and consistent accountability. The Compounding Pharmacist is expected to work independently within defined authority while escalating issues appropriately to protect patients, the pharmacy, and the organization.\nThis position may eventually involve working some weekends\nKey Responsibilities\nPharmacy Operations and Compliance\nVerify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance\nPerform DUR and final verification of compounded prescriptions\nEnsure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and applicable USP standards\nMaintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation\nProtect patient confidentiality and pharmacy data at all times\nEscalate compliance concerns, errors, or risks immediately\nCompounding Oversight\nReview all compounding records for accuracy and completeness\nPerform final checks including weight variation, mixing adequacy, clarity, consistency, pH, yield verification, labeling, packaging, and beyonduse dating\nSign and date compounding logs and prescriptions affirming identity, strength, quality, quantity, and purity\nMonitor technician compounding activities for accuracy and compliance\nPatient, Provider & Team Support\nProvide patient counseling and monitor patient wait times\nMaintain professional relationships with patients, providers, and clinics\nMake appropriate medication therapy recommendations to prescribers\nAssist Intake and Billing teams with insurance issues and guideline development\nCoordinate medication and chemical orders with the Compliance Officer\nSystems, Education and Outreach\nDemonstrate proficiency with pharmacy dispensing software including order entry, pricing, lot tracking, billing, scanning, and troubleshooting\nAssist with the development and refinement of compounded formulations\nSupport marketing and sales initiatives as needed\nParticipate in clinic visits and provide educational presentations when required\nCulture and How We Work Together\nWe believe strong pharmacy operations are built on trust, consistency, and accountability.
