DIE CORRECTOR
Die CorrectorReporting to the Die Manager, the Die Corrector is responsible for the setup, repair, correction, and cleaning of dies, die rings, and backers used in manufacturing aluminum extrusions. The Die Corrector is responsible for checking in new dies, inspecting extrusion samples on new dies, and documenting changes sent to die vendors on problem dies.Key Responsibilities:Disassembles and cleans diesRepairs and corrects dies to precise specificationsTroubleshoots die problems and uses various bench and hand tools to alter and repair dies to precise tolerances, dimensions, and flatnessOperates milling machines, grinders, and other die shop equipmentProcesses dies and tools through caustic cleaning areas and determines which dies require repair, polishing, or return to storageNitride dies according to established guidelines and processesInspects new dies for compliance to design tolerances and customer specificationsAnalyses extrusion and die performance data, leading to corrections or changes in dies to improve performanceMaintains documentation on repairs of dies and toolsDie Corrector must work with caustic and be able to operate a crane to lift heavier diesQualifications:High school diploma / GED required2-year minimum experience in a manufacturing environmentMust regularly lift 25 pounds, frequently lift 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with a partnerDemonstrated ability to read blueprints and technical drawingsDemonstrated ability to use calipers, micrometers, bore scope, and feeler gaugesRead, write, and speak EnglishAluminum extrusion die experience preferredKnowledge of Excel, Word, and EPICS (ERP) preferred
