School-Based Physical Therapist - Canandaigua, NY

Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This position offers an opportunity to serve as an on-site Physical Therapist within a K-12 school setting in Canandaigua, NY. The role involves delivering specialized physical therapy services to a diverse group of students, predominantly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), across mostly elementary to high school ages, with a small number of preschool students included. Key responsibilities include: Providing direct physical therapy services to approximately 19 students on caseload Working primarily in one school building 4 days per week, with potential to extend to a full-time schedule by adding an additional day at another school Collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement individualized therapy plans Monitoring student progress and documenting outcomes according to regulatory and district guidelines Adapting therapy techniques to meet the unique needs of students within an ASD population Qualifications and desired experience: Licensed Physical Therapist qualified to work in New York State Experience working in school settings, preferably with K-12 students Familiarity with serving students across a range of developmental levels, including preschool-aged children Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams Ability to manage a caseload of students with diverse physical and developmental needs This contract role is scheduled for 4-5 days per week, approximately 28-35 hours, with typical hours from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, providing a structured daytime schedule conducive to work-life balance.
