This includes the developing of integrated systems, detailed cost analysis, written proposals and providing sales support in the field. Our Controls Engineers are involved in regular communication with the company’s different departments during the customer’s project. Position will be expected to promote the sale of company capabilities and to propose Electronic/Automation proposals to our customer base and to create/develop electronic solutions for new market application.\n\nStandard Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nInterface with company sales to collaborate and/or provide system proposals.\n\nReview customer specifications to enable company to provide cost effective proposals that match customer requirements.\n\nCommunicate with customers to help them understand how to use the company’s products properly.\n\nWork with vendors to find most cost effective components to meet customer requirements.\n\nCreate detailed cost analysis spreadsheets that include material cost, labor estimates and engineering estimates for customer proposals.\n\nWrite theory of operation and sequence charts to enable programming of machine logic.\n\nProficient in Auto-Cad for purpose of creating hydraulic/electronic system circuit drawings and layout drawings.\n\nTravel as required to assist sales in the pursuit of order and to review customer requirements during the fulfillment of customer orders.\n\nAssist production, creating special test procedures and supervising shop testing.\n\nComply with Company Policies and Procedures; observe Safety Rules and Regulations, reporting hazardous conditions and unsafe practices to Supervisor.\n\nPerform other duties and assignments as directed by management.\n\nWorking Conditions:\n\nJob shop environment.\n\nRapidly changing priorities.\n\n40-45 hour work week.\n\nSafety protection required in manufacturing area.\n\nInterpersonal:\n\nVerbal and written communication skills that will facilitate resolving technically challenging problems for and with customers and with internal company support.\n\nAbility to resolve issues to closure while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.\n\nEffective listener to function as voice of the customer providing feedback to foster improvement in customer satisfaction.\n\nBe an effective and valuable contributor for the company engineering group in support of future product and systems design improvements for company.\n\nDemonstrated proficiency working as part of a team in engineering and selling scenarios.\n\nRequirements/Qualifications:\n\nExperience programming and working with PLC’s and HMI’s from Allen Bradley, Horner, Schneider, and Omron systems.
