The Technical Integrations Engineer (TIE) serves as a technical integration lead and strategic delivery partner, ensuring the successful implementation, scalability, and ongoing support of Pearson's integrated learning solutions. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, security, support, and external partners, owning the technical execution and long-term health of integrations, rather than one-time project delivery.The TIE is a subject matter expert in Pearson's integration ecosystem, responsible for guiding complex LMS integrations, influencing platform strategy, mitigating technical risk, and enabling internal teams and clients to operate successfully at scale.LMS & Integration ImplementationAccess Pearson (LTI 1.3) – coded and codeless implementationsSSO-only integrations (Clever and ClassLink for K-12)Google Classroom integrationsResponsibilities include:Performing initial installs, testing, and launch validation with LMS administratorsValidating application launch, course creation, and grade sync functionalityTroubleshooting installation and configuration issues during setupMigrating institutions and users out of Direct Integration where applicableCore ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary technical owner for LMS and platform integrations, including LTI, APIs, identity flows, data exchange, and automation patternsDrive integration design decisions, feasibility assessments, and solution alignment across Pearson products and platformsOwn the end-to-end integration lifecycle, including intake, design, validation, launch, post-launch stabilization, and ongoing optimizationServe as a trusted technical advisor to internal stakeholders, campus LMS administrators, and third-party partnersCross-Functional Delivery & EnablementPartner closely with Product, Engineering, Security, Support, QA, and Customer Management to deliver scalable, supportable integration solutionsTranslate complex technical constraints into clear risks, options, and trade-offs for non-technical audiencesEnable cross-team adoption by creating documentation, training materials, implementation standards, and best practicesSupport pilot programs and early-stage initiatives to validate future-state integration modelsRisk Management & Operational ExcellenceProactively identify integration, security, data, and operational risks and drive mitigation plansManage and triage multiple concurrent initiatives, incidents, and escalations, prioritizing based on business impactSupport production issue resolution by coordinating across internal teams and external partnersApply lessons learned from retrospectives to improve processes, tooling, and delivery patternsPlatform & Process StewardshipMaintain deep working knowledge of Pearson internal systems and workflows relevant to integrations and service deliveryContribute to process standardization and operational maturity, improving repeatability and reducing implementation frictionResearch and recommend tools or platform improvements that increase efficiency, reliability, and scalabilityLeadership ExpectationsBuild and maintain strong relationships across Pearson as a go-to integration and platform expertTake ownership of team-level initiatives that support roadmap execution and future growthInfluence without authority, aligning diverse stakeholders around shared technical outcomesQualifications3–5+ years of experience in technical project management, integrations, or platform delivery, preferably in EdTech or SaaS environmentsProven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneouslyDemonstrated ability to work independently while driving cross-functional alignment and outcomesSkills & CapabilitiesStrong technical investigation and systems-thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiencesHigh comfort operating in ambiguous, evolving environmentsAbility to explain integration concepts clearly without relying on deep engineering knowledge from the audienceStrong organizational, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skillsFamiliarity with industry-leading LMS platforms and education technology ecosystemsCompensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
