Team Lead, Underwriting OperationsWe are seeking a team lead with strong technical expertise in multinational and proven leadership capabilities. This role is responsible for managing a team of underwriting support staff (up to 8 members) and driving consistent, high-quality service delivery. The team lead will ensure clarity and adherence to internal processes and procedures, identify and implement efficiency opportunities, and maintain strong alignment with underwriting partners. This role is accountable for achieving service delivery standards across timeliness, productivity, and quality, while also contributing directly to accounting support as needed.Essential responsibilities include providing clear day-to-day direction to staff, overseeing development, training, and cross training of employees, supporting performance evaluations, establishing unit and individual goals in concert with operations leadership, assisting in interviewing and hiring new employees for the department, ensuring adherence to established workflows and internal procedures, delivering work in line with defined service standards, tracking and reporting weekly/monthly production, keeping department management informed of status and progress in the unit, planning and prioritizing work to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks, ensuring compliance and timely action plans for internal and external audit and peer review findings, maintaining open communication with internal and external stakeholders to foster strong partnerships, adapting effectively to changes in processes, priorities, and operating environment, and attending meetings on behalf of leadership and communicating outcomes, issues, and action items.We're looking for someone who has a college degree or equivalent experience with advanced insurance study preferred, five years' experience in P&C insurance business, relevant experience in commercial P&C insurance and multinational programs, strong rating, coding, and underwriting support skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, proactive leadership with strong time management, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently with minimal supervision.AXA XL is committed to equal employment opportunity and will consider applicants regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity and origins, marital status, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
