You will play a crucial role in improving, operating and managing IT Systems.\nDevelop and maintain a release schedules to track scheduled deployments, maintenance windows, dependencies, and risks\nObtain customer approvals before any functionality is released to environments\nAlign release management processes with ITIL 4 best practices focusing on efficiency, automation, and service value delivery\nParticipate in ECCB and ECAB to coordinate release activities with the customer and Modules to ensure interoperability between systems\nEstablish a structured release process that aligns with governance policies\nMaintain a Release Listing Document that tracks all planned, in progress, and completed releases\nCoordinate with development, QA, operations and business teams\nDefine release scope, objectives, and timelines\nOversee the release deployment process, ensuring all pre-release steps are complete (i.e., testing production validation)\nDevelop and enforce rollback plans and contingency strategies in case of release failures\nEnsure smooth transitions between development, testing, and production environments\nAct as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders\nAct as the primary point of contact for all release related activity\nDevelop reports providing visibility into timelines, status, and quality of releases\n\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED\nBring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Release Manager must have:\nFive (5) years of work experience managing new product releases or related experience\nTwo (2) years of work with Change Management, Incidents, and CAB processes and procedures\nWorking knowledge of deployment strategies and executing release windows and cycles\nWorking knowledge of IT best practices, policies and regulations, software development lifecycle, and ITIL Release Management Methodology\nWorking knowledge of Risk Management and Mitigation\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or related field\nPreferred: Prior experience as a release manager on MES/MMIS systems.\nAdditional Information:\nLocation: Remote. 20-30% travel anticipated.\nSecurity: A background check will be required.\nTimeline: This is a contingent job posting.
