This role is ideal for a passionate aviation professional with a proven track record in bringing SMS/FOQA/FDM products to market. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in team leadership, rapid software development, and a commitment to enhancing aviation through cutting-edge technology. A commercial rating is required, with preference given to those with experience in Part 135 or Part 121 operations.\nIdeally, this position is based in our Austin, TX office with relocation assistance provided. However, if relocation is not an option for you, working from one of our other offices (Houston or Portland, ME) or fully remote from select states is an option.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead the product business development for our Flight Data Analysis solutions\nDrive the successful market introduction of SMS/FOQA/FDM products\nCollaborate with various teams including engineering and product management, to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software products\nLeverage aviation expertise and technological innovation to improve flight safety\nPreferred Qualifications:\n5+ years experience in the aviation industry\nCommercial Pilot Certificate; Airline Transport Pilot Certificate is preferred\nIn-depth knowledge of Safety Management Systems, risk management, and safety reporting\nThrive in ambiguous situations and excel at finding the best path forward\nAction-oriented with a strong focus on achieving results\nEmbrace complexity and enjoy deep dives into challenging problems\nCommunicate effectively and with empathy across various roles\nPassionate about mentoring others through unfamiliar domains\nBonus Experience:\nDegree in Aviation, Aviation Safety or Data Science, Data Analytics, STEM with applied Aviation experience\nExperience in software product development\nUnderstanding of aircraft systems and operation regarding part 121 and/or part 135 operations preferred\nFamiliarity with machine learning modeling, artificial intelligence, and statistical methods for analysis of operational or flight data\nAbout ForeFlight:\nForeFlight produces the best-selling iPad and iPhone app for pilots flying personal and business aircraft, corporate flight departments, and aircraft operators.
