We are backed by Sequoia Capital, Brightmind Ventures, IA Ventures and other top firms.\nRole\nReporting to the Head of Strategic Finance, you will be a key contributor to scaling our financial operations. We are a Sequoia-backed Series A company and are ready to transition from foundational accounting to a sophisticated, scalable finance function. You will be a part of the entire accounting cycle, ensure we are audit-ready, and provide the financial visibility needed to drive our next phase of growth.\nYou will be expected to roll up your sleeves to manage the day-to-day while building out the automated systems that will support our global expansion.\nResponsibilities\nOwn day-to-day accounting at Origin, including accounting for foreign subsidiaries (e.g., Canada, Israel, etc.), multi-currency consolidation and local tax compliance.\nPartner with People Ops to ensure seamless payroll execution for international contractors and EOR (Employer of Record) employees.\nOwn and accelerate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements.\nPrepare and present monthly flash reports and board-level financial packages that highlight key KPIs, burn rate, and runway.\nLead the company through preparing for its first external audit.\nManage all domestic and international tax filings (VAT, GST, R&D tax credits). Where applicable, work for 3rd party tax advisors.\nEvaluate and manage our ERP and other financial systems.\nDesign and implement robust internal controls to mitigate risk without sacrificing startup speed.\nStreamline AP/AR, payroll, and expense management through automation tools.\nMonitor daily cash balances and optimize treasury management.\nWork closely with Department Heads to monitor budget vs. actuals and provide \"sanity checks\" on departmental spending.\nSkills and Experience\n4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a high-growth startup environment.\nActive CPA license. Big 4 accounting background is a significant plus.\nExcel/Google Sheets wizard and have experience with global payment platforms and mid-market ERPs.\nWho You Are\nA Continuous Learner. You possess a deep curiosity for international finance. While you may not be an expert in a given country’s local requirements today, you have the drive to research foreign tax landscapes and the resourcefulness to leverage external advisors effectively.\nRemote Native.
