Service & Maintenance Technician Level 1
As a Service & Maintenance Technician Level 1, you will play a crucial role in providing outstanding customer service by performing preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics on HVAC systems. This position serves as the foundation for your growth within the service team. Below are the key responsibilities and expectations of the position:
Preventative Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance services on residential and small commercial HVAC systems, ensuring proper functionality and efficiency.
Clean and replace air filters, inspect system components, and ensure all equipment meets operational standards.
Diagnostics and Repairs
Conduct basic diagnostics to identify potential issues and report findings to senior technicians or the Service Manager.
Assist with minor repairs, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Customer Service
Communicate effectively with customers, explaining the work being performed and answering basic questions.
Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor to create a positive customer experience.
Technical Development
Participate in on-the-job training and company-provided development programs to enhance technical skills and advance to higher technician levels.
Stay updated on HVAC technologies, tools, and best practices.
Compliance and Safety
Follow all company safety protocols, including proper use of tools and equipment.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards during every service visit.
Operational Support
Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle stocked with necessary tools and parts.
Complete detailed job notes and service reports for every appointment, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Skills and Qualifications
Basic understanding of HVAC systems, tools, and maintenance processes (formal training or certification preferred).
Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills through hands-on experience and training.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and team members.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in completing tasks and reports.
Physical ability to work in various conditions, including outdoor environments, tight spaces, and at heights.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
