Now Hiring: Sous Chef Location: Chateau Louise Restaurant Department: Kitchen / Culinary Reports To: Head Chef Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Sous Chef to support daily kitchen operations and assist the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and teamwork. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, detail-oriented, and highly reliable, with excellent attendance and punctuality. Key Responsibilities Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations Supervise and support kitchen staff during service Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control Enforce food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and waste reduction Step in for the Head Chef when needed Maintain efficient service during peak hours Attendance & Punctuality (Essential Requirement) Maintain consistent and reliable attendance Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled shifts Communicate absences or delays promptly and professionally Serve as a role model for the kitchen team by demonstrating accountability and reliability Excessive tardiness or absenteeism may result in disciplinary action Qualifications Previous experience as a Sous Chef or senior line cook Strong leadership and communication skills Solid knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods Lift and carry kitchen supplies as needed Work efficiently in a hot kitchen environment What We Offer Competitive compensation Professional growth opportunities Supportive team environment Stable scheduling for reliable team members To Apply: Please submit your resume to chateaulouiselunapier@gmail.com or apply in person at Chateau Louise Restaurant, 4320 Luna Pier Rd., Luna Pier, MI 48157 Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week Work Location: In person
