This position conducts mid to high level hardware/software field assignments for the Pipeline/Terminal SCADA department under minimal supervision. May direct or lead the work of others from time-to-time.\nJob Duties\n(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)\nDevelops and designs control systems for pipeline/terminal control\nPrograms PLC’s for the design and implementation of windows based software\nMaintains and programs PLCs and field HMIs\nDesigns and sets up network structures for field communication\nConducts communication testing for field sites\nDevelops system application specifications utilizing business knowledge and tests developed programs to ensure proper functionality and implementation\nEstablishes processes to resolve problems and provides top tier support to system operators and field personnel on the use of field SCADA systems\nDevelops and maintains system documentation, and documents current field site network configuration and user requirements\nProvides Communication (SAT) PLC Programming, Wonderware and/or ClearSCADA software maintenance, and the upkeep of field server and data\nRelocates technical equipment to and from an assigned location\nWork with all departments and 3rd party companies concerning SCADA\nAssist I&E group with troubleshooting field issues\nSpecial assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.\nExperience\nA minimum of three years of on-the-job experience is required.\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\nControl operations experience is preferred.\nEducation Level\nA minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience is required.\nPREFERRED EDUCATION:\nA Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications or related field is preferred.\nRequired Skills\nMid-level knowledge of PLC programming, VSAT communication, Networking, and HMI displays. Good organizational, time-management, ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbally and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.\nPREFERRED SKILLS:\nExperience with GE PLC’s, Allen Bradley PLC’s, Wonderware Intouch Software, Clear SCADA, Software and Proficy Machine addition.\nSupervisory/Managerial Responsibility\nMay manage contractors and supplier representatives and direct or lead the work of others from time-to-time.\nWork Conditions\nOffice and field based with up to 50% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, loud noises, vibrations, working in confined spaces, and exposure to the risk of electrical shock.
