Staff Accountant

A key Optimus energy trading client is seeking professional Commodity Accountants with midstream or downstream experience (preferably around refined products) to assist with the daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly operations of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that include analytical work and thorough review of financial records. These are in-office daily roles with multiple locations in the U.S.Qualified Candidates please send your resume to your Optimus Recruiter or to me at REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance2+Years of Accounting experience within a midstream or trading companyAccuracy of entries and reconciliation of subsidiary ledger accounts to the GLManaging prepaid accounts and monthly entries for commercialManaging all intercompany accounts to ensure balance at month endProviding schedules for audits as neededAnswering accounting questions through research and interpreting dataBasic / Intermediate / Advanced Microsoft Office skills requiredStrong knowledge of and experience with Accounting Principles (GAAP)Strong written, verbal, and overall strong communication skillsAbility to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines while maintaining the company standards of professionalismPer our client's specifications, candidates are required to be US Citizens, Green Card holders, or independently authorized to work in the US.
