Senior A/R SpecialistDepartment/Location: Patient Accounts$61,972.95 to $92,959.23Remote option available (White Plains, New York)Position SummaryAs the Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist, you are responsible for motivating the Patient Accounts team daily to provide guidance, help troubleshoot, resolve issues, and educate on process. Assists Supervisor and Manager with the daily activities of the department to ensure department standards are regularly met including policies and procedures being followed as well as assuring staff are well versed with payer contracts. Acts as subject matter expert with EMR system, department procedures, workflows and continually educates Patient Accounts staff on all aspects of their role such as follow-up, special projects, and accounts receivable.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:- Reviews outstanding balances and resolves accounts- Reviews correspondence and initiates refunds- Sends inquiries to patients for incomplete information- Processes billing corrections and re-billing- Ensures compliance with billing regulations- Monitors accounts and reporting metrics- Trains staff and conducts performance audits- Leads meetings and communicates trends- Handles patient and staff concerns professionallyEducation & Experience Requirements- High School Diploma or GED required- Bachelor's degree preferred- 3-5 years of hospital patient accounting experience required- Team lead experience preferred- EPIC and Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred- Strong communication and leadership skills requiredCore Competencies- Strong communication and multitasking abilities- Attention to detail and integrity- Ability to work under pressurePhysical/Mental Demands- Office-based role with computer use- Ability to attend meetings and move within office
