Maintenance Technician
Position SummaryLevel three mechanics work under minimal supervision to perform turret/spindle alignments, PM tasks such as trouble shoot lubrication system, hydraulics, bar feeders, etc. trouble shoot controls, issues etc., able to diagnose and repair most any NC mechanical issues; pull and replace ball screws, hydraulic and pneumatic issues. The Hybrid Maintenance Technician is a highly skilled, multi-craft professional responsible for performing advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance on CNC/NC machines, production equipment, and facility systems. This role operates with minimal supervision and serves as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. Typically requires 6–10+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Diagnose and repair NC/CNC machine issues, including turret/spindle alignment and ball screw replacementTroubleshoot and repair:Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and full equipment overhaulsMaintain furnaces, presses, cranes, forging equipment, and blast systemsRepair refractory linings and assist with specialized furnace componentsInspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems on all plant equipment, including:Troubleshoot and repair:Rewire and modify circuits (24V–480V, single & three-phase)Use testing equipment to diagnose voltage, load, grounding, and faultsInstall and commission new machinery and equipment (mechanical and electrical)Perform electrical work for:Install conduit (EMT and rigid), wiring, and mechanical componentsRead and interpret:Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and safety complianceDiagnose issues using sound, vibration, and performance dataTest equipment post-repair to ensure proper operationConduct routine inspections and maintenance to prevent failuresMaintain logs and documentation of equipment status and repairsCommunicate with production teams to resolve issuesAssist in training and mentoring junior techniciansSupport continuous improvement and reliability initiativesPerform general facility repairs including:Support contractors during installations and major repairsRequired SkillsStrong knowledge of:Ability to read and interpret:Experience UsingElectrical test equipment (voltmeters, amp meters, etc.)Precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers)Welding, cutting, and fabrication toolsAlignment and diagnostic toolsDiagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues independentlyApply math concepts including algebra, geometry, and measurementsWork effectively with limited standardizationPreferred SkillsetMulti-skilled in both mechanical AND electrical maintenanceStrong experience in:Able to work:Background in heavy manufacturing, forging, or aerospace is highly preferredExperience & Education6–10+ years of industrial maintenance experienceAssociate degree or technical training preferredEquivalent combination of education and hands-on experience acceptedPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
