This is a field-based role that combines foot patrols with vehicle patrols using a company-provided vehicle. Officers represent First Class Security, Inc. on-site every shift and are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, sound judgment, and clear communication at all times.\n\nShifts vary by assignment and may include days, evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.\n\nCore Responsibilities\nPatrol and Site Security\nConduct scheduled and random patrols of assigned commercial properties on foot and by company vehicle\nMonitor all access points, common areas, parking lots, and perimeters for unauthorized activity, hazards, or policy violations\nCheck in and out of shifts and complete all patrol checkpoint scans as required\nRespond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and other incidents within the assigned area\nControl access to restricted areas and verify credentials in accordance with site-specific post orders\n\nReporting and Documentation\nLog all observations, incidents, and patrol activities during each shift\nComplete accurate written incident reports for any event outside normal operations\nCommunicate with supervisors and dispatch in a timely manner regarding any site conditions that require attention\nMaintain a daily activity log that reflects actual observations\n\nCustomer Service and Professionalism\nServe as the visible, professional face of First Class Security on every assignment\nInteract with tenants, visitors, employees, and the public in a calm, courteous, and helpful manner\nDe-escalate conflict situations using verbal communication skills rather than physical force whenever possible\nFollow all client-specific post orders and company policies without exception\n\nVehicle Operations\nOperate assigned company vehicles in a safe and lawful manner at all times\nConduct a pre-shift vehicle inspection and report any damage or maintenance concerns before leaving the lot\nKeep the vehicle clean, fueled, and ready for service\nNever use a company vehicle for personal purposes\n\nQualifications\nRequired\n18 years of age or older\nValid Tennessee driver's license with a clean driving record\nAbility to pass a background check and drug screening\nCurrent Tennessee unarmed security officer registration or eligibility to obtain one prior to first shift\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nReliable transportation to reach assigned post locations\nAbility to stand, walk, and patrol on foot for extended periods in varying weather conditions\nPreferred\nPrior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field\nExperience using digital shift management or reporting platforms\nCPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain\nFamiliarity with commercial property environments such as retail centers, office buildings, and apartment communities\n\nPhysical Requirements\nThis role involves extended periods of standing, walking, and driving. Officers must be able to patrol on foot across large properties in all weather conditions, climb stairs, and respond quickly to incidents when needed. The ability to remain alert during overnight and low-activity shifts is required.\n\nWork Environment\nOfficers are assigned to commercial properties throughout the Greater Nashville metropolitan area. Assignments may include retail centers, office parks, apartment communities, construction sites, and other commercial locations.
