This role oversees the daily operations of the Teen Tech Center (TTC), with primary leadership of the Music Production Studio and Coding Lab.The Coordinator empowers teens to explore their interests through hands-on, project-based learning in technology, music, and digital media. This role blends mentorship, program facilitation, and technical support to create a safe, inclusive, and high-energy environment where youth can build skills, confidence, and pathways to future success. Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Design & ImplementationSupervise and ensure the Teen Tech Center is open, safe, and fully operational during after-school hoursDevelop and facilitate engaging, project-based S.T.E.A.M. workshopsLead programming in music production (Logic, FL Studio, ProTools), beat-making, podcasting, and coding (Python, Scratch, Web Development)Encourage youth participation through hands-on exploration of technology and creative toolsPromote a culture of discovery, creativity, and learning by designYouth Engagement & MentorshipBuild authentic, supportive relationships with teens, serving as a positive and relatable role modelProvide guidance that supports personal growth, skill development, and future planning (education and career pathways)Manage groups of up to 20 youth while maintaining a safe and inclusive environmentFoster a welcoming space that uplifts diversity and encourages self-expressionLeadership & CollaborationServe as a “right-hand” to the Program Director to ensure smooth daily operationsRecruit, train, and support volunteer mentorsCollaborate with internal and external teams, including Workforce Development, to enhance programming and partnershipsParticipate in Clubhouse Network collaborations, meetings, and trainings (some travel may be required)Community Outreach & PartnershipsBuild relationships with local schools, community leaders, and families to increase program participationSupport recruitment efforts and expand the Teen Tech Center’s reachEngage with national partners and contribute to collaborative initiativesOperations & AdministrationMaintain accurate records including attendance, program data, and participant outcomesDocument and evaluate program impact through surveys and assessmentsEnsure proper maintenance of technology, including troubleshooting, updates, and inventory managementMaintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the TTC spaceSupport reporting requirements and database managementSafety & ComplianceEnsure adherence to safety protocols, emergency preparedness, and crisis management proceduresMaintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all interactionsUphold organizational policies, procedures, and mission This position was funded through a grant partnership and was contingent upon renewal of that funding. QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferredMust be at least 18 years oldExperience working with youth, particularly teens preferredExperience in informal learning environments (e.g., after-school programs, camps, studios, community centers) preferredTechnical Skills & KnowledgeDemonstrated experience or strong interest in music production, digital arts, or computer scienceProficiency with Apple and Microsoft systems, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and database toolsBasic technical troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skillsCore CompetenciesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to build relationships and create a welcoming, inclusive environmentExcellent time management, organization, and ability to prioritize tasksSelf-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a teamTrauma-informed approach when working with youthAbility to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlinesAdditional RequirementsCPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DMV record check (if applicable)Ability to pass background check and drug screeningAuthorization to work in the United States This position was funded through a grant partnership and was contingent upon renewal of that funding.
