Job Type Full-time Description Job Summary An Asphalt Materials Technician evaluates asphalt binders, aggregates, and mixtures through standardized testing procedures. They support quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) efforts to ensure safe, durable pavement performance. Requirements Job ResponsibilitiesCommunicating test status and results to Lab ManagerCollect asphalt samples from plants, job sites, or roadwaysPerform laboratory tests on asphalt binder and mixturesPrepare samples for testing using ovens, sieves, and compaction equipmentRecord and analyze test results accuratelyCompare results against project specifications and standardsMaintain and calibrate lab equipmentPrepare reports for engineers, contractors, or project managersAssist with troubleshooting material performance issuesFollow safety and quality control proceduresAbility to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervisionAdhering to deadlinesAbility to be flexible during peak timesPromoting a safe work environment and maintaining a clean and organized work areaAssisting with AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) proficiency testing as requiredGreat attention to detail is requiredReporting any issues to the supervisor/managerAny other task requested by the supervisor/ manager Job Skills & RequirementsIndustry certifications required:1B (Required)Familiarity with lab equipment and computersPhysical ability to handle materials and stand for long periodsLove and enjoy working indoors/outdoors.Ability to follow instructions.Excellent time management skills.Always adhering to safety protocols and procedures.Ability to read and interpret technical proceduresUnderstanding the importance of QC (Quality Control) in the laboratory.Must be a self-starter, reliable, and come with a good and humble attitudeAttention to detail.Strong teamwork, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.Basic computer skills such as Word and Excel.Basic Math knowledge.Clean MVR, background, and drug screening.Valid driver's license.High school diploma or equivalent.Available to work long hours and weekendsTasks assigned by the supervisor or manager BenefitsMedical insurance (United Healthcare)Dental & Vision (Guardian)Aflac (Additional insurance)401K Match (Principal)PTO accrual since (start accruing since your 1st workday)7 Paid Holidays (It varies per job site/client needs)Opportunities for professional development, training, and growth.Competitive pay commensurate with experience.
