This role is responsible for the mechanical design of new products to meet customer specifications and design modifications of existing products. Job function includes direct interaction with Customers, Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, Manufacturing, Vendors, and Management to determine product requirements, and develop technical drawings and specifications in a timely manner to meet tight schedules.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Apply Continuous Improvement methodologies to product designs and processesHands on involvement with all phases of new and incremental productConceptual design of parts and assemblies using SolidWorks andDevelopment in a timely manner of accurate drawings and specifications forSupporting various Engineering databases and creating bills ofSupport Product Managers of various product lines in feasibility assessment, design innovation, product enhancement, and cost-effective product manufactureServe as feasibility and technical resource to the Sales and Technical SupportIdentify, evaluate, and manage testing and assessment of alternate raw materials, product designs, and processes to improve productivity and reduce product componentEvaluate, recommend, and implement engineering and product database processes and systems to ensure integrity and accessibility of all product and technicalAssure product and process quality by designing testing methods, establishingAbility to interact effectively with all levels of theOccasional travel is (Estimated regional travel: 10%, Estimated global travel: 1-2x/year)Manage waste responsibly (utilize proper containers, participate in the recycling programs)Promote energy conservationOther duties as assigned to meet departmental and CompanyMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar relevant engineering discipline requiredAdvanced degree is aProficient skill level in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and/or other designExperience in Engineering Product Data Management (PDM) system structure and3+years of experience in product design engineering in a made to order metals manufacturing environment, preferredKnowledge of metal cutting manufacturing processes, metallurgy and heat treatment is a plus.OTHER CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:Attention to detail is essential with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast- paced manufacturingAbility to apply Engineering principles in practical application with strong analyticalAdvanced knowledge of design practices, machining tolerances, surface finishes,Knowledge and experience with strength of materials, FEA experience isDemonstrate leadership skills, a high level of motivation, and the ability to work independently with a minimalThe ability to create technical drawings and specifications in a clear, accurate and completeExcellent organizational skills and excellent computerExcellent project management skills, ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing as required, excellent relationship skills, attention to detail and understanding of the bigStrong written communication skills to effectively communicate concepts, instructions, procedures, and developAbility to handle multiple tasks and prioritizePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This is a hybrid position located in Eureka, MOWork in conditions typical of a manufacturing environment – noise, dust, odors,Able to wear required personal protective equipment – safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection,Ability to lift up to 35Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods ofOccasional travel is (Estimated regional travel: 10%, Estimated global travel: 1-2x/year)#INDMaxcess is an equal employment opportunity employer.
