Serves as a subject matter expert in reporting processes and provides guidance on best practices for data analysis and reporting.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nDesign, develop, and maintain complex reporting solutions using T-SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Report Builder, and Power BI.\r\nWrite, optimize, and troubleshoot T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and scripts to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.\r\nDevelop and support SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes across multiple business systems.\r\nCollaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable technical reporting solutions.\r\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance operational, financial, and executive dashboards utilizing Power BI, SSRS, and SQL-based reporting tools.\r\nAnalyze and validate data from multiple sources to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting platforms.\r\nPerform root cause analysis and resolve complex data, reporting, and system issues through technical investigation and data validation.\r\nSupport enterprise data warehouse and data integration initiatives by working closely with Data Engineers and Database Administrators.\r\nCreate and maintain data models, report datasets, database objects, and semantic layers to support self-service reporting capabilities.\r\nMonitor and optimize report performance, query execution, and database efficiency to improve scalability and end-user experience.\r\nSupport testing, deployment, validation, and change management activities across reporting environments.\r\nIdentify and implement opportunities for reporting automation, standardization, and process improvement.\r\nPresent KPIs, trends, insights, and recommendations to business and leadership stakeholders.\r\nEnsure compliance with data governance, security, and reporting standards.\r\nDesign and implement monitoring, alerting, and health-check processes to proactively identify data quality, reporting, and system performance issues.\r\nEstablish and monitor operational metrics, reporting SLAs, and service health indicators.\r\nBuild strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, leadership, and external clients to support strategic and operational decision-making.\r\nDrive KPI standardization, reporting governance, visualization best practices, and enterprise reporting frameworks.\r\nCommunicate reporting releases, enhancements, bug fixes, and data definition changes while facilitating stakeholder feedback and prioritizing improvements.\r\nSkills & Qualification\r\nBachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or comparable work experience\r\n5+ year's experience in a software engineering, development operations engineering, database administration, or product development role. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL development and performance tuning.\r\nExperience developing reports with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Report Builder.\r\nExperience designing and supporting SSIS ETL packages and data integration processes.\r\nStrong experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and dashboard development.\r\nKnowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and star schema design.\r\nExperience working with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, or cloud-based data platforms is preferred.\r\nFamiliarity with source control, release management, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.\r\nStrong understanding of data governance, data quality, and master data management principles.\r\nPhysical Demands\r\nThe physical demands of this position are in keeping with general office functions: sitting, using a computer, keyboard, telephone, etc.\r\nReasonable accommodation can be made to enable employee to perform the essential job duties.\r\nMedvantx is an equal opportunity employer.
