Our production department is currently seeking to fill a CNC Mill Operator with programming experience.\nThis position requires strong knowledge of CNC programming, machining processes, tooling, workholding, and inspection. The successful candidate must be able to work from engineering drawings and specifications, develop efficient machining programs, and produce parts that meet dimensional, quality, and delivery requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nCreate, edit, and optimize CNC milling programs using M16 Fanuc machine controls.\nProgram and operate 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling equipment, as applicable.\nReview engineering drawings, models, specifications, and tolerances to determine appropriate machining methods.\nDevelop machining sequences, tooling requirements, cutting parameters, and workholding strategies.\nSet up machines, fixtures, vises, tooling, probes, and offsets.\nPerform first-piece machining and verify dimensions before releasing parts for continued production.\nTroubleshoot programming, tooling, dimensional, surface-finish, and machine-performance issues.\nMake program and process adjustments to improve cycle time, tool life, quality, and repeatability.\nInspect completed work using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.\nEnsure parts conform to drawings, work instructions, inspection plans, and customer requirements.\nMaintain accurate setup sheets, tooling lists, program revisions, and manufacturing records.\nCoordinate with engineering, quality, production planning, and other machinists to resolve manufacturing issues.\nSupport new-product introduction, first-article inspection, and process-development activities.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce setup time, machining time, scrap, rework, and outside processing.\nPerform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.\nFollow all company safety, quality, and procedural requirements.\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum of three years of CNC milling, setup, and programming experience.\nDemonstrated ability to independently program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines.\nStrong understanding of machining practices, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, workholding, and fixture design.\nAbility to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and surface-finish requirements.\nExperience machining carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and other oilfield materials.\nProficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment.\nAbility to diagnose and correct dimensional, tooling, and process-related problems.\nAbility to work with limited supervision and manage multiple priorities.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, or similar CNC controls.\nExperience programming horizontal machining centers and 4-axis or 5-axis equipment.\nExperience machining complex oilfield, downhole-tool, valve, or drilling-tool components.\nWorking knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.\nExperience developing fixtures and supporting first-article qualification.\nPrevious experience in an ISO 9001 or API-regulated manufacturing environment.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand and work around manufacturing equipment for extended periods.\nAbility to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds with appropriate assistance.\nAbility to safely handle tooling, fixtures, raw materials, and finished components.\nAbility to use personal protective equipment as required.\nNorth Houston Area\nAir-conditioned facility\nFull benefits\n40 hours with overtime available\n13 Paid Holidays\nJob Type: Full-time\nPay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour\nWork Location: In person","company":"Union Tech","rawCompany":"union tech","city":"Houston","state":"TX","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-08-06T15:42:51.051Z","occupations":[{"code":"51-4041.00","title":"Machinists","slug":"machinists"},{"code":"51-9161.00","title":"Computer Numerically Controlled Tool Operators","slug":"computer-numerically-controlled-tool-operators"},{"code":"51-9162.00","title":"Computer Numerically Controlled Tool Programmers","slug":"computer-numerically-controlled-tool-programmers"}],"industries":[{"code":"332710","title":"Machine Shops","slug":"machine-shops"},{"code":"332721","title":"Precision Turned Product Manufacturing","slug":"precision-turned-product-manufacturing"},{"code":"332911","title":"Industrial Valve Manufacturing","slug":"industrial-valve-manufacturing"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Mill Operator – Programming Experienced","description":"Union Tech (uniontechmfg.com) is a global, integrated manufacturer of oil tools, including upper and lower completion tools, sand control tools, and highly engineered valves.
