This role focuses on building performant, maintainable, and testable frontend applications that interface with complex backend systems and real-time data sources.This position is intended for early-career engineers with a solid foundation in modern frontend development who are motivated to learn, take feedback, and grow into more advanced software engineering responsibilities. The engineer will work under guidance from senior engineers while contributing to production-grade applications used across research and applied DoD programs.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain frontend applications using modern web technologiesImplement user interface components, application state management, and data visualization featuresIntegrate frontend applications with backend services, APIs, and real-time data streamsDevelop and maintain reusable UI components and styling systems for consistency across applicationsWrite unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to validate frontend behavior and prevent regressionsSupport CI/CD pipelines, automated build systems, and deployment workflows for web applicationsDebug and resolve frontend performance issues, rendering problems, and cross-browser compatibility concernsWork with senior engineers to translate requirements into functional UI designs and implementation plansDocument application behavior, architecture decisions, and development workflowsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field0–5 years of software development experienceExperience with modern frontend technologiesExperience with at least one frontend framework (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)Understanding of basic web concepts including HTTP, REST APIs, and client-server architectureAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearanceDesired QualificationsExperience developing responsive or data-driven web applicationsFamiliarity with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Playwright)Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated build/test workflowsExperience with containerized development environments (e.g., Docker)Exposure to data visualization libraries (e.g., D3, Chart.js, or similar)Familiarity with secure development practices for web applicationsBasic Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 (For Ohio Only)The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.Belong, Connect and Grow at KBRAt KBR, we are passionate about our people and our Zero Harm culture.
