Position SummaryThe Director, Nursing Services provides strategic and operational leadership for Nufactor’s nursing services and clinical support operations. This role oversees nursing operations, patient care coordination, clinical quality, regulatory compliance, workforce management, and operational performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and service-oriented clinical support programs.The Director serves as a key clinical leader and cross-functional business partner, collaborating with internal departments, healthcare providers, referral sources, manufacturers, and external stakeholders to support operational excellence, organizational growth, and positive patient outcomes. This position is responsible for maintaining nursing operations in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, professional nursing practices, and organizational policies while driving continuous improvement and operational effectiveness across the department.Essential Functions and DutiesLeadership & Department Oversight:Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Nursing Services department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.Direct the planning, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of nursing operations, clinical support services, staffing models, and departmental workflows.Establish departmental priorities, operational goals, productivity expectations, and performance metrics to support service excellence and organizational growth.Participate in organizational strategic planning initiatives related to clinical operations, patient support programs, and nursing service delivery.Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the department.Clinical Operations & Service Delivery:Oversee day-to-day nursing operations, including supervision of Clinical Nurse Educators, Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Nursing Department Assistants, and other assigned personnel.Ensure the delivery of safe, compliant, efficient, and high-quality nursing support services in accordance with accepted clinical standards and organizational expectations.Serve as a clinical escalation resource for complex patient care matters, infusion therapy support, provider concerns, adverse event management, and operational issues requiring advanced clinical judgment.Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, caregivers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate continuity of care, improve service delivery, and resolve escalated concerns.Monitor staffing utilization, workflow efficiency, service levels, and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement and scalability.Support the development and implementation of standardized clinical workflows, operational procedures, and service delivery models to enhance consistency and operational effectiveness.Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:Develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, clinical protocols, and operational standards in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation requirements, and professional nursing practices.Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, Board of Nursing requirements, payer requirements, specialty pharmacy standards, and accreditation standards, as applicable.Lead quality assurance, performance improvement, patient safety, and risk mitigation initiatives related to nursing operations and clinical support services.Participate in audits, inspections, accreditation activities, corrective action initiatives, and regulatory reviews as required.Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, reporting, and record-keeping practices across the department.Identify operational, clinical, and compliance risks and collaborate with leadership to implement appropriate mitigation strategies and corrective actions.Leadership, Development & Performance Management:Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for nursing personnel and support staff.Establish clear performance expectations and conduct timely performance evaluations, coaching discussions, corrective actions, and development planning activities.Support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, succession planning, and retention initiatives for nursing staff.Foster an environment of teamwork, accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.Ensure staff maintain required licensure, certifications, competencies, and ongoing training requirements.Cross-Functional Collaboration & Business Partnership:Partner collaboratively with Pharmacy, Operations, Intake, Reimbursement, Compliance, Quality, Sales, Business Development, and executive leadership to support operational alignment and organizational objectives.Support organizational growth initiatives through participation in client meetings, provider relationship management, implementation planning, and strategic operational initiatives.Maintain and strengthen relationships with healthcare providers, referral sources, manufacturers, specialty pharmacy stakeholders, and external partners.Effectively manage internal and external communications involving nursing operations, clinical escalations, service concerns, and provider interactions.Financial & Operational Management:Collaborate with leadership on departmental budgeting, staffing strategies, operational planning, and resource allocation activities.Support departmental budget management, expense oversight, and resource planning activities to ensure operational effectiveness and responsible utilization of organizational resources.Monitor operational trends, departmental productivity, staffing levels, and service demands to support efficient utilization of resources.Identify and implement workflow improvements, operational efficiencies, and process optimization initiatives to enhance service delivery and organizational effectiveness.Support operational scalability and continuous improvement efforts within the Nursing Services department.Industry Engagement & Professional Knowledge:Maintain current knowledge of specialty infusion therapies, ambulatory infusion devices, payer requirements, nursing practices, and industry standards relevant to the organization’s services.Routinely monitor, evaluate, and communicate industry developments, regulatory updates, and clinical best practices to internal stakeholders.Attend and represent the organization at local, regional, and national meetings, conferences, educational programs, and industry events, as assigned.General Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. Ability to travel , including overnight travel, as requested. Must have the ability to lift and maneuver items of at least 20 lbs.
