The right candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all construction field-related activities to ensure cost, schedule and quality standards are met. Responsible for establishing the construction scheduling, field policies and procedures, and the overall community job sites for safety and appearance. Continually interfaces with all departments to achieve division goals.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nRecruit, actively communicate train field personnel regarding construction processes, safety, quality requirements, company policies and procedures\nSchedule and direct tasks necessary for all phases of construction\nManage and supervise construction activities either directly or through utilizing the Construction Area Managers, Project Managers, General Superintendents and Superintendents\nEnsure the Construction Department is meeting all safety standards in accordance with OSHA and state regulations\nOversee field operations, production times and ensure quality control so the homes built meet company standards and are ready for homeowner orientation/occupancy\nSet build times on each plan and provide schedules to meet the build times\nReview all architectural plans prior to first time build at each community. Grant final approval on all architectural changes\nTake immediate action, including adjusting the construction process or shutting down work, if necessary, to achieve a safe working environment and comply with requirements\nEvaluate community schedules to update and determine appropriate modifications to schedules and resources to reflect community’s needs as they arise to ensure timely completion\nInterface, when necessary, with public agencies, municipal governing bodies, public utilities and industry associations in obtaining permits and approvals\nVisit job sites to check quality and policy enforcement\nReview performance of all trade partners\nReview survey cards for construction and customer service to direct quality improvement efforts\nDevelop and control the departmental overhead budget\nConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company\nAbility to travel overnight\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nSupervises 2 or more employees\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation and/or Experience\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)\nTen years related experience and/or training\nMust have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license\nHigh degree of construction knowledge and management skills\nAbility to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules\nGeneral knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes\nAbility to converse with customers, all levels of management and personnel\nSuperb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills\nDemonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction\nAbility to control cost overruns and manage a budget\nAbility to utilize DRH Construction applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptop\nProficiency with MS Office and email\nAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred\nWork effectively in a high pressure and high production environment\nEnglish/Spanish bilingual skills a plus\n\nCome join a winning team with a Fortune 500 company!
